Safe Harbour Expressive Therapies was founded in 2014 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. One of the first practices of its kind in the region, this practice specializes in

expressive, hands-on, body focused and trauma-informed therapy interventions that emphasize a

person-centered perspective.

Safe Harbour founder Sandra Hewitt-Parsons (DKATI, ND) named this practice after her grandmother's hometown. As in many small Newfoundland outports, Sandra's grandmother often spoke of how community members would support one another in challenging times. Having both a formal art therapy (DKATI) / expressive arts therapy (EXAT candidate) education as well as personal lived experience, Sandra has dedicated herself to supporting her diverse client base with unconditional acceptance of individual experience, compassion, respect, and the highest possible standards of care.

In true Newfoundland tradition, no matter where you are in the world or on your wellness journey, you are always welcome at Safe Harbour :) Find out more about how expressive art therapies can help you by visiting our FAQ page. Get to know more about Sandra on the

"Biography" page. Stay informed about upcoming workshops and other news by joining our email list at the bottom of the page.
